Cap Styles

The #1 question of all first time wig shoppers is, "what is the best or right cap for me"?
Let me attempt to break it down for you a little. I'm sure I will need to add to this post daily for at least a month to encompass all caps and details.

FULL LACE CAP
A full Lace cap is the coolest and lightest weight option of all the wigs. It's a thin veil of lace that has individual hairs hand tied throughout the entire cap. It can be parted in any direction or have a full bang cut into it. It has clips and an adjustable strap for those with hair. If you have no hair you can glue or tape the cap on. This type of cap can also be used with a "sew in" where it is sewn to your natural hair after braiding it down.

LACE FRONT CAP
The lace Front Cap has 2.5 inches of  hand tied lace across the front that can be parted in any direction. The remainder of the wig is a closed cap with wefting. This is a good option if you like a very thick wig and a natural front.

SILK TOP FULL LACE CAP
The silk top is lovely because it hides the knots from the hairs tied into the lace. It looks just like a scalp.  It's a little warmer than full lace with no silk but still very light weight.
A silk top cap can be all hand tied or have wefting throughout.

MONOFILAMENT
A monofilament top wig is a hand tied  thin sheer material. The hair can be parted in any direction and can be attached to a fully hand tied cap or a wefted cap.
A double mono has an extra layer of material to add to the comfort of the cap.

Gardeaux Wigs

So my wig company is getting bigger and I need a place to  post  information so Gardeaux Wigs is taking over my little ignored blog...lol

I will be posting as much information as possible to educate those shopping for a wig. It is a overwhelming and difficult process.  Hopefully I can make the difficult task of finding the right wig easier through this blog.

Rainbow Pastel Wig is done!

Here is my first attempt at making my own full wig. I have colored the hair and sewn the hair into a lace wig cap. I'm happy with it!

Rainbow Pastel Wig

I sing in a band called Sugar Rush and I decided a Pastel Rainbow wig would be quite fitting for the stage.
I have the wefts colored and I'm waiting for my lace closure to arrive so I can attempt my first full wig! Yikes!
I have been able to purchase a few quality wig caps from ebay AND a wig making training kit from online.
Once everything arrives I will post my completed wig.   Until then I have loosely sewn the hair on a dome cap and I am wearing it to shows with a hat...(it's bald on top)! Shhh don't tell....ha ha.

DIY Ombré Partial Wig

So I have darkened my hair and have a bit of an ombré thing going. I have found it virtually impossible to find a matching wig  ...so I tackled making one on my own.
It turned out pretty good!

I purchased this Human Yaki Hair for 26.00 a bundle. It is a terrible ombré on it so I used color to blend the two...
Ready to sew!

I feel like my show needs more pink...

I decided to dye my hair pink. I had to spray one of my hair pieces to match since it's impossible to find anything but a full wig in pink.
Here are a few looks I came up with....
